Inadvertently I found myself following two parallel paths in the design field and between engaging in the start-up community; one of them being my very own startup project. This was more of a creative/art project and it didn't offer much financial return or reward.
My first indie film project had me going through the entire process of initiating the project to help recruit a small team of people, through ideation, script writing, storyboarding, and sound designing for the trailer. I was mostly focused on the creative side of the project, occasionally having to take on reaching out to people to pitch the project. We had the intent to see this through to final production, unfortunately, we were not able to raise the required amount to move toward production.
The trailer was a minified version of the film in that it allowed me to understand the logistics of what goes into filmmaking like aspects of storytelling, cinematography, funding, directing, and post-production.
This project in retrospect was my first attempt to sort of strike out on my own in a project that would not result in big monetary returns but more on intrinsic value. The equivalent of cinematography in the design world I would associate with design systems.
