This work had a lot to do with experimenting with projections, inspired by an original product artefact idea I had in mind which would be able to increase the complexity of projection mapping and other types of immersive projection mapping. This object was a type of device that could be used in audiovisual events and installations.
This product is a physical object, but when I first started thinking about it the concept was ambiguous, and difficult for me to imagine what I was trying to create as it was so abstract. Was it software or a physical object? Eventually, from research, I began to understand there was a market for this as there were similar concepts like Immersive Projection by Catopsys which are all meant to enhance the audiovisual experience.
Since this was one of my conceptual works, I prototyped a convex mirror to demonstrate what the visual lights could be like as a way to anchor the purpose of my concepts and then to confirm if it was possible. I conducted market research to establish a need that a product such as this would enrich the market as this concept was initially quite leftfield and being able to see there were similar ideas in the market. This was not strictly a user experience project, but more toward product design. Any future development of this project would involve an exploration of industrial design and 3-d printing.
